1. Service Guarantee

These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, govern your use of this website and the services provided. Continued use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree with any provision, please discontinue use immediately.

 

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • “EazyCalculations”, “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to EazyCalculations, a trading name of Thomas Palmer, sole trader.

  • “You” or “Client” refers to the user of our website or services.

2. Terms of Website Use

These terms and conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, govern your use of this website and our services. Continued use of this website constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not agree with any provision herein, please discontinue use immediately.

"EazyCalculations," "we," "us," or "our" refers to the trading name EazyCalculations as undertaken by Thomas Palmer. "You" or "Client" refers to the user of our website or services.

2.1 Website Usage Conditions

Your use of this website is subject to the following conditions:

  • Website content is provided for general information purposes and may be updated without notice

  • Use of any information or materials is entirely at your own risk

  • All website content, including design, layout, graphics, and text, is proprietary to EazyCalculations or our licensors

  • Reproduction of content is prohibited except as permitted by copyright law

  • Unauthorized use may result in legal action

  • External links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement

  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales

2.1 Building Control Correspondence

All building control queries regarding our calculations should be forwarded to info@eazy-calculations.com with the relevant project reference. We endeavour to respond within two working days.

As an online consultancy, we do not conduct site visits and therefore cannot assess existing ground conditions or design foundations that require site-specific soil analysis.

3. Scope of Services

Unless otherwise specified in our quotation, our services are limited to providing structural calculations and layout drawings for Building Regulations applications. Additional requests from parties other than Building Control may incur separate charges.

3.1 Included Services

  • Structural calculations compliant with current standards

  • Layout drawings for Building Regulations submission

  • Technical clarification for builders and project managers

  • Response to Building Control queries within scope

3.2 Excluded Services (Unless Specified)

  • Party Wall surveyor requirements and documentation

  • Site-specific foundation design without ground investigation

  • Construction specifications and material schedules

  • SER Certification (Scotland) unless expressly included

  • Verification of non-compliant site construction

  • We recommend early investigation of Party Wall requirements to avoid additional costs. Requests for information falling outside our agreed scope may be subject to additional charges.

4. Project Timescales

We do not guarantee specific delivery times due to project complexity variations. Timescales are measured from quote acceptance to final document delivery, excluding periods awaiting client information or clarification.

Standard Timeframe: Typically 1-2 weeks depending on project size.

5. Technical Standards and Documentation

All calculations and drawings are prepared in accordance with current Eurocode standards and relevant British Standards unless otherwise agreed in writing. We follow current industry best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

Documents are delivered electronically in PDF format via email. Hard copies are not provided but may be obtained through third-party printing services.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

6.1 Project Cancellation

Refunds for cancelled projects are calculated based on work completed at the time of cancellation notice. Completed projects are non-refundable. Partial refunds are determined by EazyCalculations based on project progress, though we will consider reasonable client representations.

6.2 Third-Party Designs

When asked to verify structures designed by others, we reserve the right to issue calculations demonstrating structural inadequacy where appropriate. No refund applies in such cases, though we will advise of likely outcomes where possible before commencement.

6.3 Additional Building Control Requirements

No Additional Charge: Where EazyCalculations should reasonably have anticipated Building Control requirements not included in our original scope, we shall provide additional calculations at no cost.

Additional Charge: Where requirements could not reasonably have been foreseen or were offered as optional services declined by the client, additional charges apply as per separate quotation.

7. Design Modifications

Requests to modify specifications (materials, dimensions, configurations) require separate quotation unless Change Request Insurance was purchased.

7.1 Change Request Insurance

One modification request is included at no additional charge, subject to scope limitations. Subsequent changes incur minimum charges of £175. We recommend confirming all requirements with your project team before submitting modification requests.

Site condition verification typically requires removal of existing finishes and should be scheduled accordingly.

8. Ground Conditions and Foundations

Where ground conditions are not specified, we assume typical soil conditions (firm clay or medium-dense sand). Building Control Officers are responsible for ground condition verification prior to construction commencement.

Our standard scope includes spread foundations only. Engineered solutions (piles, rafts) require separate specification and quotation.

For enhanced cost certainty, we recommend preliminary ground investigation ranging from informal neighbour consultation to formal geotechnical reports. We can provide recommendations for qualified geotechnical consultants upon request.

9. Professional Liability and Insurance

EazyCalculations maintains professional indemnity insurance providing £500,000 coverage per claim. Higher coverage limits or insurance certificates are available upon request.

9.1 Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claim, loss, damage, or expense arising from our services, whether in contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise, shall not exceed £500,000 per occurrence. This limitation applies regardless of whether damages were foreseeable.

9.2 Excluded Limitations

This limitation does not apply to:

  • Death or personal injury resulting from our negligence

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

  • Any liability that cannot be legally limited or excluded

The client acknowledges that these limitations are reasonable considering the nature of our services and fee structure.

10. General Provisions

These terms constitute the entire agreement between parties and supersede all prior negotiations, representations, or agreements. Modifications must be in writing and signed by both parties.

If any provision is deemed unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute waiver of that right.

These terms are governed by English law, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
