What are structural calculations and why do I need them?
Structural calculations show how a project can be built safely and in compliance with building regulations. They prove that your design will withstand loads, weather, and everyday use.
How long does the process usually take?
For a typical residential project, calculations take around 3–5 working days and unless of exceptional circumstance always < 10 working days. Larger or more complex structures may require longer, especially if drawings or surveys need revising.
Do you need to visit my property?
Not always. Many projects can be assessed from architectural drawings. However, a site visit may be needed for unusual layouts, extensions, or where existing conditions must be checked.
What do I need to provide?
Architectural drawings and photos if available. For simple load bearing wall removal floor plans, dimensioned sketches, and photos are often enough for us to prepare your design.
Will Building Control accept your designs?
All calculations are prepared by a Chartered Engineer and carry a 100% Building Control approval
How much will it cost?
